AGE REQUIREMENTS

Please note that we require all volunteers to be at least 16 years of age or older on the date of the event.  Volunteers 16 & 17 years of age will require Parents/Legal Guardian consent when registering online.

CONFIRMATION LETTER OF VOLUNTEER SERVICES

A confirmation letter of volunteer hours will be provided upon request. If you require a letter recognizing your volunteer hours, please indicate your request on the Volunteer Online Registration Form.

MANDATORY ORIENTATION

Please note that there will be a mandatory orientation for all volunteers. All volunteers are required to attend this Orientation Session.

CAN I SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER WITH A FRIEND/FAMILY MEMBER?

Absolutely! To increase the chances of volunteering with your friend or family member, please ensure that you and your friend sign-up for the same position and shift. We will make every effort to accommodate your request, however, we can’t guarantee that you’ll work together. Your Area Supervisor may need you to work separately during your respective shift.

EVENT DAY VOLUNTEER POSITIONS – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2018


EVENT DAY VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
Sunday, September 16, 2018

REGISTRATION TABLE VOLUNTEERS

Location: Celebration Square
Shift: 6:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (5 Hrs)

Volunteers are needed to help with the set-up of registration and to sign-in participants. Volunteers should be able to work efficiently under pressure and provide excellent customer service to our participants. We are looking for volunteers who are flexible and willing to help out in a variety of capacities.


START/FINISH LINE VOLUNTEERS

Location: Celebration Square
Shift: 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (5 Hrs)

Volunteers will greet and direct participants to their respective start lines (slow, medium, fast) and keep participants organized as they line up at the start/finish line. Volunteers should be able to work efficiently under pressure and provide excellent customer service to our participants. We are looking for volunteers who are flexible and willing to help in any capacity they can.


GENERAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS (MORNING)

Location: Celebration Square
Shift: 5:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. (5 Hrs)

Morning volunteers will assist in event set-up including, but not limited to setting up the registration table area, assisting and directing vendors and participants, barricade set-up, assisting with the water station, helping to direct traffic/parking, and/or other duties as assigned. Some positions may require light lifting. Volunteers should be able to work efficiently under pressure and provide excellent customer service to our participants. We are looking for volunteers who are flexible and willing to help out in any capacity they can.


GENERAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS (DAYTIME)

Location: Celebration Square
Shift: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (6 Hrs)

Daytime volunteers will provide support during the course of the event. Daytime volunteers will be asked to assist with event tear down, clean up of tables and barricades, directing participants to the ice cream station, directing participants and assisting with water bottle re-fill at the water station, and/or other duties as assigned. Some positions may require light lifting. Volunteers should be able to work efficiently under pressure and provide excellent customer service to our participants. We are looking for volunteers who are flexible and willing to help out in any capacity they can.


REST STOP #1 VOLUNTEERS

Location: Hershey Centre
*Volunteers are responsible to get to and from the rest stops
Shift: 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. (4 Hrs)

Volunteers will be stationed at the rest stops to ensure that snacks and drinks are set-up and available for riders. Volunteers will be responsible for set-up and take down of the rest stop and will maintain the rest stop throughout their shift. We are looking for volunteers who are friendly, customer service oriented and able to work independently.


REST STOP # 2 VOLUNTEERS

Location: River Grove Community Centre
*Volunteers are responsible to get to and from the rest stops
Shift: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (4Hrs)

Volunteers will be stationed at the rest stops to ensure that snacks and drinks are set-up and available for riders. Volunteers will be responsible for set-up and take down of the rest stop and will maintain the rest stop throughout their shift. We are looking for volunteers who are friendly, customer service oriented and able to work independently.


ICE CREAM VOLUNTEERS

Location: Celebration Square
Shift: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (4 Hrs)

The ice cream stations will get busy quickly and we will need volunteers to help keep this area organized! Volunteers will ensure that participants receive their ice cream as well as help to manage line-ups and collect ice cream tickets. We are looking for volunteers who are friendly, customer service oriented and comfortable directing large groups of people.
